Our Facilities
Inside Barn 1
Barn 1 is a large space providing approximately 500 sq mtrs of floor space. On the ground level you will find a large open area with a stage, complete with a projector and (limited) sound system, at one end of the barn and a self-service area at the other.
The self service area benefits from plumbed in water cooler and hot water boiler, a fridge, two cold drinks dispensers and a conveyor toaster. There is also a small microwave, to help with heating baby food and bottles.
There are ample tables and chairs, providing seating for up to 150 people at mealtimes. The self service area also benefits from a high speed dishwasher to help ensure washing up plates, bowls, cups and cutlery does not take any longer than absolutely necessary!
Barn one also houses a tuck shop, office, laundry, first aid room and a small meeting room on the first floor.
The Stage
The stage area provides a range of equipment to help you with your meetings, worship and small scale productions. Along with a standard black out curtain surround, we provide a mixing desk, projector with drop down screen, lighting and there is some limited PA equipment.
If bringing a band and instruments, we recommend supplementing HCT equipment with your own.
Games Tables
Over the years we have been blessed to have been gifted various games tables. Currently we are able to provide the following:
\ 2 x table tennis tables (N.B. bring your bats and ping pong balls!)
2 x pool tables
1 x table football table
1 x air hockey table
We also provide a charging point for multiple telephones and mobile device charging. All you need is your device and charging lead.
First Aid
The health and wellbeing of our campers is one of the most important aspects of a successful camp.
At the rear of barn 1 you will find a first aid room to assist your camp's first aider. The first aid room is equipped with a bed, lockable fridge and medicine cabinet, and a sharps box. There is some limited first aid equipment including a bed, wheelchair and crutches. Each camp should bring sufficient first aid supplies for their event.
Outside the first aid room, fixed to the wall, is an AED or defibrillator for use in the case of an emergency.
HCT do not supply first aid or a first aider
Laundry
We provide a small laundry for use by the camp leaders and site manager, for washing essential items such as tea towels, soiled bedding etc.. The laundry houses a domestic washing machine and in addition to the two rotary washing lines, there is a tumble dryer for those days when rain stops play!
Upstairs Meeting Room
Upstairs we have created a smaller meeting room, which can seat approximately 50 people (in a theatre style). It is a perfect place for more intimate gatherings, prayer groups or just for chilling out.
This room is equipped with a projector and benefits from an automated air conditioning system; and is sound proofed, which has proven popular for some camps using it as a movie room or band practice.
Inside Barn 2
Our second barn, which is also 500 sq mtrs, houses our various washrooms, a creche (which may also double up as a smaller meeting room for approx 10 people), and our activity/sports hall, which benefits from a smooth polished concrete floor, and has two wall mounted indoor football goals, ensuring even on rainy days, there is somewhere to kick a ball around.
The Wash Rooms
We provide a range of washrooms, to meet the variety of needs of our campers. All our showers are designed as wet rooms with drains in the floor.
Male and Female Washrooms are accessible from the main camping field. Once inside there are hot showers and hand wash basins in each along with a number of toilet cubicles. The floors in the shower rooms are underfloor heated, provide some comfort during the cooler evenings.
Family Washrooms are provided and are 4 individual washrooms, complete with shower, hand basin and toilet, which are designed to provide a little more room for families. One of these rooms is equipped with hand rails and an emergency pull cord, as an accessible shower room and also has a baby changing facility.
The Creche / Small Meeting Room
The creche (affectionately known as 'the Zoo') is a room set aside for our smaller campers. and has double doors which open up directly onto the camp field.
As a creche, the room is equipped with junior sized tables and chairs and has a sink unit to help cope with messy activities and sticky hands! This room also benefits from a junior sized toilet, designed for toddlers, with a hand wash basin.
Alternatively, this room is ideally suited as a smaller meeting room and easily seats approximately 10 to 15 people, depending on the set up of the room.
Activity Hall
The activity hall is a large space which is available for your camp to use for a range of indoor activities.
The hall benefits from a smooth concrete floor, making it perfect for a huge range of activities from roller skates and skateboards to disco dancing or crafting; and has two indoor soccer goals.
Outside
Outside of the barns is our camping field. Apart from our accommodation the site also offers a number of amenities including a football pitch, volleyball court (on grass), bonfire area, BBQ and a number of picnic benches.
Car Parking
On site we provide hard standing car parking, which is located directly in front of the two barns. We ask our campers to keep their cars in the car park and not to drive on the camping field, unless directed to do so by the Site Manager.
We have recently added an additional, overflow car parking area, which is a great addition for day visitors.
If you arrive at site, and need help in moving belongings, we provide extra large wheel barrows for moving personal items, in bulk, from the car park to your accommodation.
HCT cannot accept any responsibility for damage caused from falling trees or tree debris, to vehicles, caravans or tents parked on site.
