Getting involved

We are constantly striving to improve our site and its facilities, which creates many opportunities where you can help support us.

Volunteering

Volunteering

Lockerley Water Farm camp site and its facilities are completely managed and maintained by volunteers.

Whether you have a spare couple of hours on your hands or some spare capacity in your week on a more regular basis, or would like to join one of our organised workdays, our volunteer managers will always actively utilise spare pairs of hands!

If you have a talent or gift you would like to share or would like to learn more about how you may help and get involved; we would love to hear from you.

Set Up & Put Away

Set Up & Put Away

Each year, we have two significant work days where we need as many helpers as possible.

Set Up Day

In order to get the site 'ship-shape' for the season ahead, we have a set up day to make the site clean, safe and ready for the camping season. There are jobs for everyone, various trades, cleaning, tidying and making the necessary checks. It's not glamorous, but it is essential! We estimate we need 50 people on the day. Not only does the day offer a fantastic opportunity to view the camp site. Deploying your gifts and talents will be a hugely rewarding experience. In short, we can’t do this without YOU.

The 2024 set up date will be published soon.

Put Away Day

This is similar to the set up day, but is often a shorter day. It ensures we safely take down the site, packing the equipment away safely in the barns, and ensure the facilities are safely switched off and stored, ready for the next season.

Financial gifts & donations

Financial gifts & donations

Hampshire Christian Trust is a charitable not-for-profit organisation, reliant on the generosity of our patrons. From the time that the trust was created in 1988, we have relied exclusively on gifts for the numerous projects to improve and develop the site.

The funds we receive from camps and events during our camping season cover the day-to-day running costs of the site and amenities. All site improvements and projects are funded by specific gifting and/or grants.

We have been incredibly blessed over the years. The generosity of our patrons has enabled us to develop the site and it's facilities, and the continuing provision of a safe and well-equipped camp site.

If you would like to make a financial gift or donation please do get in touch.

Site sitting

Site sitting

During the camping season, particularly during the school term, we need volunteers to stay on-site for a few days during the week, using their own camping facilities. This enables us to arrange deliveries, receive any contractors required on-site and ensures the site is occupied.

If this is something you would be interested in helping with, please do get in touch to discuss.

Site Managers

Site Managers

Are you a GREAT people person who loves getting things done?

From the beginning of May to the end of September, HCT employs a site manager. This is a salaried, live-in role, principally to ensure the security and safe-keeping of the campsite and the wellbeing of our users. The site manager is not responsible for the running of the camps. Each camp has its own well-prepared leadership team.

If you are someone with a good range of practical skills and a great communicator, please get in touch for more information.
